THE Supreme Court will hear an appeal by Heathrow Airport over its plans to build a third runway on October 7-8.
The appeal was already granted, but the dates were announced only yesterday (15).
It follows a landmark ruling by the Court of Appeal at the end of February, which said the Government had not taken into account the Paris climate change agreement in agreeing to airport expansion.
Paul McGuinness, chair of the No 3rd Runway Coalition, said: “These dates are sooner than some expected.
“Perhaps [it’s] because the Supreme Court is as keen to clarify this important area of developing law as our communities are anxious to see Heathrow expansion shelved once and for all.”
