A HILLINGDON teenager is among the latest to receive a community award, presented during the lockdown to keep young people motivated.
The Jack Petchey Foundation scheme also recognises young people helping their communities.
People are invited to nominate someone they know via the Foundation’s website www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk. Winners will be awarded £50.
Thomas Brown, 16, was nominated by Uxbridge College, for being an outstanding student. He has represented his tutor group and, without being asked, has been in regular contact with the others, and supporting them in the lockdown.

He regularly creates and posts quizzes on Google Hangouts to keep his class busy and entertained.
Thomas has also volunteered to help create a set of resources for the school’s LGBT community, to support other students and raise awareness.
Sharon McCann, who nominated him, said: “Thomas is an amazing student who has overcome many emotional hurdles this year.”
Thomas said: “It’s so nice to know that actions I did because I wanted to are seen, even when I don’t think anyone is watching.”
A young person can be nominated for any actions to help vulnerable family members, the neighbourhood, school or youth group.
