MORE details are being announced about safety measures in place at intu Uxbridge shopping centre ahead of Monday’s reopening of non-essential stores.

Staff will be able to accurately monitor and manage the number of people in the centre at any time. It will manage queues outside when capacity is reached and there will be a raft of other measures including one-way systems and floor stickers outside stores.

There will be more deep cleaning of key areas and touchpoints like escalators, toilets and keypads. The measures have remained in place for access to essential services like pharmacies, supermarkets and banks.

Hand sanitation stands will remain at entrances and other locations throughout the centre.

Research released by intu last week shows that more than 70% of regular shopping centre visitors would actively encourage compulsory hand sanitation, protective screens at tills, limits on the numbers able to enter stores at any one time, and distance markers.

More than 60% support in-store security to control crowds, cashless stores and would be happy with an average wait time of 10 minutes to enter a store.

River Island, Next and H&M are among stores to be opening at intu Uxbridge from Monday. More information on //www.intu.co.uk/uxbridge/news/covid-19
