STORMS and heavy rain are expected to hit Sussex this afternoon with a yellow weather warning still in place for the entire county.

The Met Office will keep a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in place until 9pm.

The Weather Channel has issued an hour-by-hour weather forecast for this evening.

Hourly forecast across Sussex for today

1pm – Here the likelihood of rain first comes into play although sunny spells can also be expected. This is the beginning of the Met Office's predicted storm.

2pm - Thunder and lightening with heavy rain is expected across Sussex although temperatures could be as high as 17C.

3pm - The rain is likely to drop off dramatically with 10 per cent humidity and temperatures remaining constant.

4pm - Much of the same with cloudy skies but high temperatures, falling to 14C.

5pm - The rain will return, although it won't be as heavy as the 2pm downpour, expect temperatures to remain high with intermittent sunny spells.

6m - Same as before, sunny spells with remain temperatures still around the 15C mark.

7pm - The rain will remain but temperatures will begin to slide a little, the yellow weathering is still in place.

8pm - The rain will ease off with temperature beginning to fall as we head towards the evening.

9pm - Rain will ease off again with the Met Office yellow weather warning being removed.

The outlook for Saturday to Monday 

Mainly dry, warm and sunny on Saturday, then rain and brisk winds overnight. Rain clearing Sunday, with occasional showers following. Breezy. Monday generally dry and cloudy after a bright start.
