A HILLINGDON nursing home was determined not to let COVID-19 (or bad weather) get in the way of its annual cupcake fund-raiser.
So, instead of a coffee morning, it hosted a Cupcake Day drive through in its car park, raising £393.21 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Despite the rain, the event at Parkfield House in Charville Lane West, was well attended, with friends and families respecting social distancing while enjoying cakes donated by Wenzel’s bakery and others.
A crew from the London Ambulance Service also dropped in and made a donation. No cakes went uneaten as unsold treats were given to the fire station.
