Met Police is taking over a murder investigation after a man who was stabbed died.

The man, in his 30s, was found with stab wounds in Epping New Road shortly before 8pm on Tuesday (June 23).

Detectives said he was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Met Police have now taken over the investigation and detectives from specialist crime are investigating.

His next of kin are aware and a formal identification is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

It is suggested the victim was attacked in an area with the Met's jurisdiction.
