A serving police officer who appeared in court accused of a child sex offence will remain on bail.
Hertfordshire police sergeant Michael Grigg, 34, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with one count of sexual activity with a child.
The county's police force says the allegation relates to an offence alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2012.
The case has now been referred to Harrow Crown Court on a date to be set following Grigg's first appearance in court. He will continue to remain on bail.
Grigg, who formerly served the Hatfield area, was arrested as part of an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) managed investigation, conducted by Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Safeguarding Command.
After being charged in April he was released on conditional bail to appear before court.
He remains suspended from duty.
