FUND-raisers at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood are encouraging people to get involved in a novel initiative to mark the 72nd anniversary of the NHS.
Inspired by the 2.6 Challenge earlier this year, they are launching the 7.2 Challenge to support people affected by cancer.
This Sunday (5), the day the NHS was founded 72 years ago, people are invited to do something related to 7.2 or, if you’re feeling really energetic, 72.
Community fund-raiser Joe Dunster said: “All of our usual events have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we are coming up with inventive new ways to raise much-needed money instead.
“Whether you choose do to a 7.2K run, jump 72 times on a trampoline or bake 72 cookies for your family, your challenge is entirely up to you.”
