Readers have shared some of their favourite pubs they are eager to visit this weekend.

This weekend (July 4) pubs, restaurants and bars will reopen across the country for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown as social distancing measures ease.

Ch Supt Liversidge, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, has asked for anyone visiting pubs to "remain vigilant".

But many people throughout lockdown have been missing pubs and are likely to attend this weekend, so we asked readers what pub they have missed most.

Here were some of the popular contenders.

1. The Three Crowns, Bushey

Hillingdon Times:

This old-style country pub located on High Road, has been called a local favourite due to its large garden.

There is an extensive menu and before lockdown there was a weekly quiz which would raise money for charities in the community.

2. White Lion, Watford

Hillingdon Times:

An old fashion pub located on St Albans Road which serves traditional food.

It also has a pool table, dart board, a selection of games to play and books to read.

3. Dunnings Bar, Watford

Hillingdon Times:

One reader said this bar located on St Albans Road it’s his favourite because to him it is the last “proper” Irish bar.

It has all sports available to watch including Irish sports, live music on Saturday night and a fundraising night.

4. The Essex Arms, Watford

Hillingdon Times:

This pub on Langley Way serves classic pub food. Many people in Watford have called it a pub to visit with your family as it offers homely and welcoming atmosphere.

5. The Golden Lion, Watford

Hillingdon Times:

This pub will be opening a bit later than other pubs, as it hopes to reopen by Monday (July 6).

Its spacious venue provides a homely feel but will still make visitors feel comfortable out of lockdown – with a relaxing beer garden outside.

6. The Nascot Arms

Hillingdon Times:

This family run pub features the Mr Ting authentic Thai cuisine, offering a different taste to the traditional pub menu.

The atmosphere at the pub is welcoming and the Thai food accompanies the selection of drinks quite well.

7. The Artichoke, Croxley Green

Hillingdon Times:

Located by The Green, the Artichoke has gone through some recent redecoration alongside the social distancing preparations made.

One reader said they would recommend this pub because it is “an all-round great pub” and “looks after its customers”.

The outdoor space here is a very homely place, with flowers and a white picket fence.

8. The Unicorn, Kings Langley

Hillingdon Times:

The old traditional establishment is already full booked for the reopening day on July 4, one reader called the pub “stunning” and with “great vibes” due to the big portioned food and friendly service.

It takes a classic look reaffirming the traditional style, with open fires, a comforting interior and small outdoor seating area.

9. The Royal Oak, Abbots Langley

Hillingdon Times:

They serve a seasonal menu and promise locally sourced fresh ingredients, with award winning wines and real ales.

As well as the garden they have an 80 seat restaurant with full table service and a kids play area.
