Passengers are being urged to check before travelling for the next two weekends as improvements works are due to take place.

Engineers will carry out work this weekend (July 18 and 19) and next weekend (July 25 and 26) to install overhead line equipment on the Midland Main Line.

Work will also include testing electrical systems and upgrading sections of the track on the Midland Main Line.

Network Rail has warned there will be various changes to services to London St Pancras International over the next two weekends.

Govia Thameslink Railway is also urging passengers to check before travelling and allow plenty of time for their journeys.

Here are details of the service changes:

July 18 (Saturday) - Thameslink services will run between Bedford and St Pancras.

July 19 - Thameslink trains will run between Luton and St Pancras but will not run between Bedford and Luton. Road replacement services will be in place.

Road transport will also replace trains between Hendon and St Pancras until 8.55am.

July 25 (Saturday)- Thameslink services will run between Bedford and St Pancras. But trains will not run between Bedford and St Albans from 11pm on the Saturday until 9.30am on Sunday morning.

Road replacement services will be in place.

July 26 - Thameslink services will run between Luton and St Pancras. Road replacement services will be in place between Bedford and Luton.
