A police officer pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault while arresting a man.
Stephen Dalton, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, was charged with actual bodily harm (ABH) in relation to an incident in Watford on October 4 last year where a man sustained injuries to his face following his arrest.
Dalton, 52, of Maylands Avenue in Hemel Hempstead, was charged after an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)

The IOPC's investigation was completed in February and the evidence was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which made the decision to charge PC Dalton in June.
Dalton pleaded not guilty at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday, July 29.
There is no date as of yet for the next hearing.
