Police investigating a stabbing have charged a third man.

On Sunday July 5, a man was seriously assaulted in Horseshoe Lane, Garston, near Woodside Leisure Centre.

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital but was later discharged.

A police cordon was in place on July 5 as police investigated the assault.

Since then, a number of enquiries have taken place and three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

  • Jake Mooney, 24, from Watford has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH). He has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear at St Albans Crown Court on September 7.
  • James Diston, 27, of no fixed address, has been previously charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the assault. He has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear at St Albans Crown Court on September 1.
  • Danny Hardy, 30, of The Gossamers, Watford, was previously charged with Section 18 GBH and perverting the course of justice in connection with the assault. He has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear at St Albans Crown Court on August 17.
  • A 29-year-old man from Watford was previously arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH in connection with the assault. He has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

Connor O’Sullivan-Smith, 25, who has links to Watford, Bedford, and Devon remains wanted by police in connection with the assault.
