BRAVE care assistant René Smith, who works at Parkfield House in Hillingdon, has shaved off all her locks, donating the proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.
René, who has worked at the home in Charville Lane West for nearly four years, was determined to do something to support family, friends and residents who have suffered with (or currently have) cancer.
She has so far raised £1,440, comfortably exceeding her target of £1,000.
“A couple of my friends have braved the shave and it looked such a satisfying thing to do,” she said.
“My grandmother is currently in remission and a close friend has had the illness for a long time. I just wanted to do my bit to support them.”
