The email said that children in the bubbles affected had been sent home and have to self-isolate for 14 days, and that they will only need to be tested if they become symptomatic.

Harrow schools

At least six schools within Harrow have had to tell pupils or staff to go home and self-isolate after positive tests for coronavirus.

Harrow Council has confirmed that they are aware of at least eight positive Covid-19 tests across six schools in the borough.

While the council did not specify who from which schools were affected, a spokesperson from the council said: “The impact ranges from sending a handful of individuals (pupils and staff) home immediately to self-isolate to individual classes, and whole/or partial year groups.

“Each school immediately sought advice from Public Health England’s London Coronavirus Response Centre (LCRC) and followed the guidance provided including advising which students and staff should self-isolate immediately and carrying out thorough cleans. “
