We’re looking at some well-known sights in High Wycombe for Then and Now this week.
This photo, believed to have been taken in the eighties, is looking north east along London Road and shows the buildings, including the Methodist Chapel and Pheasant pub at the junction of Gordon Road.
The chapel building is still recognisable to this day on the well-used junction, although it's part of Majestic Wines now.

You will certainly recognise this modern town centre view at the junction with Priory Road and Castle Street, but this 1929 photo shows The Priory before it was converted to shops.
The famous McIlroy’s stands where Primark is now.
