SOUP, bread and even apple crumble were on offer at one local school recently.
Five Lanes Primary School in Worton held a socially distanced Big Soup Share takeaway at their school gate on October 9. The national initiative, run by the Royal Horticultural Society, celebrates growing and harvesting vegetables, then turning them into soup to share with the local community.
At Five Lanes vegetables grown by children during lockdown were made into soup, the Rev Ali Bridewell visited to make bread rolls with a class, and the gardening and afterschool clubs made apple crumble.
Members of the community brought their own containers to collect the food and by 3.30pm everything had been distributed.
The school would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported them.
