Watford legend and community ambassador Luther Blissett made a visit to the operations team at the One Vison hub in Garston during half-term, bringing with him a car-load of food donations.
The Hornets' record goalscorer, who had already assisted another community group in Pinner that morning, brought back all of the surplus food bags to share with the Watford community.
The food donation bags included hot meals, cakes, drink cartons and fruit for each beneficiary. The One Vision team then organised the bags into deliveries out to those in need of help in the Watford area.
During his visit, Luther assisted Cllr Liz Burns, One Vision’s operations lead, with a ‘Guess the weight of the pumpkin’ competition which raised funds to support her Abbots Langley Veterans Society.
One Vision founder Enoch Kanagaraj said “It’s always a pleasure to welcome Luther to One Vision. He is a great community ambassador to the Watford community.
This is another great example of working cohesively in community partnership with individuals and groups, which is the whole philosophy of One Vision. “
The community project, which provides practical support to vulnerable individuals and families in the Watford district, urgently needs new volunteer drivers to help distribute food to those in need. Additionally, the organisation is also looking for food donations from businesses and individuals.
Anyone who can donate any of their time or food (preferably non-perishable), no matter how much, can contact the One Vision team on 07527 213921 or via their website at www.onevisionproject.org
