A busy section of road will be shut in one direction for four days due to roadworks.

Affinity Water is carrying out essential repairs in St Albans Road, Garston from tomorrow (November 20) until Monday (November 23).

According to Hertfordshire County Council, there will be no access for drivers heading into Watford in St Albans Road, from the A405 to opposite McDonald’s, which is just yards down the road.

The road will close from 9.30am on Friday and reopen at 11.59pm on Monday night.

Drivers are officially being diverted via the A405 and A41 towards the Dome Roundabout.

Traffic heading out of Garston towards the A405 is completely unaffected by the roadworks.

The Onenetwork said on its website: "We are currently carrying out essential maintenance in your area, this is on-going work to improve our service to you – usually there will be little disruption to road users during these types of works which can include stop tap replacements, meter fits, leak detection and fixes among others."
