A MAP of Covid-19 hotspots shows AREAS of Halstead and Braintree are tied as the two worst hit regions in the Braintree district as both see the number of new cases rise despite two weeks of lockdown

The map highlights coronavirus hotspots across the area by colour coding them according to the infection rate which also showing the number of new coronavirus cases.

The map displays weekly data from March when the pandemic began.

The latest data is for the week leading up to November 14.

It shows the rate of infection in each area and where positive cases have been confirmed in recent days.

It is based on testing data from Public Health England.

Areas are then colour coded based on the infection rate.

White areas mean there area is 'suppressed' after having less than three new cases in a seven day period.

The map has revealed the two places in the district with the highest number of new cases recorded in the seven days up to November 14.

Both Halstead Central and West and Braintree South recorded 19 new cases.

The two areas are tied for the highest number of new cases in the district.

The two areas of the towns individually have recorded a higher number of new cases than Central Colchester which had 13 new cases.

They are closely followed by Coggeshall and Kelvedon which recorded 18 new cases of the virus.

Witham Town has recorded 15 new cases which nearby West Witham remains removed from the map with fewer than three cases recorded.
