A woman was assaulted and her car damaged by a man in Loughton earlier this month.
Essex Police are only now appealing for witnesses following the attack on November 7.
Police have reported a man assaulted the woman and damaged her car in Englands Lane at about 8.20pm.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We are looking for anyone with any information to come forward.
"In particular we are looking for a family with two children who we believe witnessed the incident and may have information which will be important to the investigation.
"If you saw anything, have any CCTV, dash cam or Ring doorbell footage, or any other information, please call us on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/183191/20."
