EMERGENCY services were called in to action last week after a car crashed in to a garage.

Firefighters were called following an in incident on Buxton Road, Coggeshall which saw a car crash into a garage on the residential street.

The incident took place on Friday 20 November at around 6.30pm with two fire crews from Braintree and Coggeshall being called to the scene.

Upon arriving, firefighters were joined by the ambulance service and worked to help a person who had been trapped in the car following the crash.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service described the person trapped in the car as a "casualty" and worked with paramedics to free them from the wreckage.

The person was released from the car and was tended to by the paramedics.

An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of an incident involving a car which had crashed into a garage.

"One person was trapped in the vehicle.

"Fire crews worked with paramedics to help release the casualty.

"The casualty was released from the vehicle and left in the care of the Ambulance Service by 6:55pm.”
