POLICE have cracked down on drug related anti-social behaviour in Halstead after multiple complaints from residents.

Residents living near the Ramsey Road skate park in Halstead will be happy to know their complaints to Essex Police were heard and acted upon.

The skate park, which has fallen in to disrepair in recent years, has become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour in the town.

Residents near the area have complained about the skate park to Essex Police over concerns about nuisance behaviour, littering and possible drug use.

Essex Police reacted by dispatching officers to patrol the area.

On their patrol yesterday evening officers found three men who, after a search, were found to be in possession of multiple drug related items.

The males were all aged 18 and were stopped at around 7.15pm and searched under the misuse of drugs act.

Essex Police have said the trio were "dealt with appropriately" although it is unknown at this time if any arrests were made.

Due to the investigation not being finalised, Essex Police were unwilling to comment further.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Following complaints about nuisance behaviour, drug use and breaches of the government guidelines at the skate park Halstead, officers patrolling the area stopped three people who all had some things they shouldn't have.

"They have all been dealt with appropriately.

"This type of behaviour may seem trivial to someone that hasn't experienced it but when it's happening all the time day after day it really effect people."
