A Marlow resident who has lived through two world wars, four monarchs, and 26 Prime Ministers recently celebrated her 105th birthday.
Rosie Payne, who is the town’s oldest person and is one of the oldest people in the UK, celebrated her milestone birthday on Saturday, November 21 at the Meadowside Residential Home on Little Marlow Road, where members of staff made her feel special with a gathering of all the residents in the lounge.

Her family, who also live in Marlow, were able to watch Rosie blow out her birthday candles from the outside, before having a visit in the Covid secure room that has been built to protect those living in the care home, members of staff, and visitors.
Rosie lived in Seer Green for many years and was a nurse who attended to prisoners of war in Amersham Hospital during World War II.

Described as being ‘very sharp with a great sarcastic sense of humour’, Rosie was ‘delighted’ with her signed card from the Queen.
