A police pursuit was brought to an end at a major roundabout last night.
Images showed the aftermath of the pursuit which left Stirling Corner in Borehamwood at a standstill and one man in police custody.
Officers had tried to pull a silver Ford Focus over on the A1(M) but the driver ignored the calls and travelled south towards Borehamwood.
Police tweeted that a stinger was successfully deployed, which punctured the fleeing driver's tyres.
At Stirling Corner by Morrisons, police say the driver went the wrong way around the roundabout so a decision was made to ram the vehicle and bring the pursuit to a stop.
Officers at the scene shared photos of the aftermath of the stop, which involved a police car and the Focus, as well as a red Toyota.

The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit tweeted at 8.35pm: "Great team effort alongside our specialist intercept colleagues. Cloned vehicle spotted on the A1M, it failed to stop and a stinger was successfully deployed. The car went the wrong way around Stirling Corner so tactical contact utilised to stop it safely."
Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed a 23-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including failing to stop, driving while under the influence of drugs, and theft of a motor vehicle.
A motorbike was also found in the back of the fleeing vehicle.
The man remains in police custody.
