A man has been killed while two others are injured after a triple stabbing in Harrow town centre.

There is a major police presence this evening with the main shopping street St Ann's Road cordoned off.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service were called to the street at around 7.15pm (December 13) and found a man believed to be in his 20s suffering from stab wounds.

The Metropolitan Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two further males, believed to be aged in their late teens, were also stabbed.

It is unknown how seriously injured they are but they are both in hospital.

The Met has confirmed it has launched a murder investigation.

Labour MP for Harrow West Gareth Thomas tweeted tonight: "Hearing of awful, awful events this evening; that there has been a fatal stabbing and 3 others injured as a result of an ‘incident’ in Harrow Town Centre.

"My heart goes out to the victims and their families who will be having to confront just the most devastating of news tonight."

Crime scenes are in place in St Anns Road and the Station Road area.

Video shows several blue police vans in Harrow town centre with the area on lockdown and police tape blocking off a large part of the town.

The Met has also confirmed a section 60 has been authorised for the whole borough of Harrow which will expire at 10.49am tomorrow (Monday).

This gives police the power to search anyone, with good reason, that they suspect may be carrying a weapon or if they believe serious violence may take place in the specific area.

Police enquiries into the triple stabbing are ongoing and there have been no reports of any arrests.
