A SWEEP by police from the Territorial Support Group across London led to eight arrests, including suspects in Hayes and at Ealing Broadway.

Offences included robbery, burglary, drug driving and class A and B drugs offences.

In Hayes, they responded to a person being robbed of their laptop.

A search of the area found someone who matched the description of the offender hiding in a back garden. He was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

At Ealing Broadway, two men leaving the station ran off when they saw officers, but both were chased and caught.

One was arrested after he was found with a knife and the other for possession of drugs.

Across London, more than 50 people were arrested and numerous knives confiscated.

Supt Louise Puddefoot said: “The variety of arrests, offences and weapons taken off our streets demonstrates how hard these specially-trained officers are working to protect our communities.”
