A MAN has been arrested and charged following an incident on Friday (21) in which a police constable was struck by a driver in Manor Waye, Uxbridge.
The officer, who is in his 30s, received a potentially life-changing injury to his leg and was taken to hospital, where he remains.
Almam James-Downes, 24, of Rabournmead Drive, Northolt was arrested on Saturday evening.
He appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court today (24) charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
