A striking mural of Watford FC legend Graham Taylor has been officially unveiled at a community centre.

The artwork of the club's former player, manager and chairman is on display at Meriden Community Centre, which he reopened in 2016 following a £2 million refurbishment.

Nearly five years on MurWalls has installed the artwork to honour Graham's community legacy, with his wife Rita Taylor overseeing the unveiling.

Along with a stunning picture it includes a quote from him selected by Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust in conjunction with their patrons - the Taylor family.

CEO of MurWalls Marc Silver said: “Graham Taylor represents everything that I love about football.

"It was not just what he was doing with his team on the pitch, but it was his spirit and desire to change the lives of the supporters.

"Watford FC has always been a club that looks after their community and Graham was always at the forefront of this mentality.

"The Club embraced his forward-thinking concepts, and his legacy is truly alive today."

He added it was an "honour" to gift the mural to the trust, which he hopes will be loved by Graham's family and visitors to the centre.

Steve Williams, head of facilities and inclusion at the trust, said: "Graham Taylor is always within our minds at the trust, and at the Meriden Community Centre where he was our guest at the official reopening in 2016.

"The mural provides us all with a physical reminder of his legacy, as well as having been a great supporter of our work."

Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust is holding a 'draw along' Facebook Live event today (Wednesday) at 4pm featuring Lloyd Doyley.
