PEOPLE in Hillingdon are being urged to vote for their favourite names put forward by primary schoolchildren for the council’s new fleet of food waste trucks.
The competition, which ran throughout May, attracted more than 250 entries from across the borough giving the judges a tough job of shortlisting 15 finalists for a final vote by the public.
Voting is now open until Thursday, July 1. The five names with the highest votes will be printed on to the trucks.
The names to vote on are Energetic Eric; Sir Recyclelot; Happy Scrappy; BioBob; Monster Muncher; R2 bin 2; Leftover Lilly; Munching Molly; The Green Gobbler; Foodie Crew; The Raccoon; Snow Bite; Hungry Henry The Hillingdon Helper; Munchasaurus; and Scrappy Dappy Food

In May, the council introduced a separate food waste service to help increase the borough’s recycling rates.
Hillingdon's food waste is transported in bulk to Surrey for recycling via a process called anaerobic digestion.
It's broken down to generate electricity which helps supply homes and businesses with clean, renewable energy.
