A HAYES man and one from Feltham were sentenced this week (23) for modern-day slavery offences.

Abdullahi Fidow, 35, of Moston Close, Hayes, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court to 17 years in prison for offences including slavery, supplying cocaine and heroin, wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and actual bodily harm.

Mohammed Hassan, 38, of Feltham, was jailed for 12 years on slavery offences and supplying cocaine and heroin.

The story began in 2019 when police were called to the scene of a stabbing, where the victim reported he had been held against his will for five days by a group of men.

He said he was scared for his life and had been physically assaulted.

He also alleged he had witnessed a stabbing committed by Fidow and positively identified him.

An investigation began following the arrest of Fidow at the home address of a second victim.

A detective gained the trust and confidence of the second victim, who disclosed he had been forced to allow a gang to use his home for dealing drugs.

Det Chief Insp Andy Thrower said: “These men targeted and intimidated vulnerable residents through fear or use of violence, moving into their homes to establish a base of operation to distribute drugs across the west of London and further afield.

“I have no doubt the streets are a safer place now they are behind bars.”
