TV presenter Nick Baker visited a Ruislip school to present one of its pupils with the winning certificate in a national competition.

He also gave Suhaan, from Year 4 at Warrender Primary School, Old Hatch Manor, a selection of wildlife kits for himself and the school for winning the My Living World Design A Bug competition.

Suhaan was selected from more than 800 entries for the competition, which ran this spring and summer.

Nick spoke to pupils about life as a naturalist and the exciting creatures he has seen, as well as how to look out for them during the summer holidays.

He also opened the school’s new activity trail. Created from wood and natural materials, it has already attracted ants and insects.

Nick has hosted BBC’s Really Wild Show and Springwatch Unsprung,
