THE ribbon was cut yesterday (18) to officially open Colham Green Post Office with new postmaster, Nandhan Rabickumar.

A full-time permanent Post Office has been restored to the community, close to Hillingdon Hospital.

The branch has re-opened at the former location of 88-90 Pield Heath Road. It closed a year ago when the McColl’s store, where it was based, closed.

Nandhan, a former store employee, and his wife Anusuya refurbished the premises and the shop re-opened in October. It is now called Pield Heath Convenience Store.

Nandhan worked at Colham Green Post Office for nine years and is delighted to re-open the service.

The Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Roy Chamdal, who cut the ribbon, said the shop was ideally placed for neighbours as well as those working at and visiting the hospital.

Opening hours initially are Monday-Saturday 7am-10pm and Sunday 10am-10pm, a total of 102 hours.

Other guests at the opening ceremony included senior hospital staff.
