The race for the UK Pro League finals week is hotting up as the tournament enters its penultimate round at the Aldershot Tennis Centre.

Emily Appleton will look to extend her lead at the top of the women’s rankings in Week 8 as she currently sits 28 points ahead of Eliz Maloney in second.

With the top three in the men’s rankings not in action this week, Josh Paris has the perfect opportunity to leapfrog the trio and take first place heading into the final week of qualifying.

The innovative format is the Premier League of British tennis and the only domestic competition for the UK’s top professionals, bringing them together for nine weeks of action to qualify for November’s Finals Week.

And with over half a million pounds of prize money up for grabs across the season, you won’t miss a thing with all the action broadcast live on BT Sport, The Tennis Channel and UKproleague.tv.

Appleton is up against Amy Leather and Nadia Rawson in Women’s Pool B with Rawson looking to move herself away from the drop zone, her 32 points is just five more than Beth Grey in 10th place who sits just outside the qualifying places.

A win this week could see Tiffany William move into the top nine but she faces a tricky opponent in Women’s Pool C in the form of Katie Stresnakova who currently sits in eighth.

The runner-up in Week 7 Emma Wilson is back in action in Women’s Pool D, her run to the final saw her move into 9th place and she faces Daisy Chapman and Holly Hutchinson playing in their second and first weeks of the UK Pro League.

Hillingdon Times:

In Men's Pool D, Josh Paris will have to beat Ewan Moore who currently sits in 21st place alongside two newbies to the league in the form of Sahej Maker and Scott Duncan if he wants to move to the top of the table.

Dan Cox, who currently occupies fifth spot and sits on the same number of points as Paris, will also face two rookies when he takes on Derrick Chen and George Davies in Men’s Pool A, as well as taking on Llewellyn Bevan who picked up a point in Week 5.

With 18 points on offer for the winner, the players know they are one week away from having the chance to emulate Emma Raducanu and Liam Broady to became UK Pro League champions.

With a prize fund of around £500k and Broadcast live on BT Sport, The Tennis Channel and UKproleague.tv, the UK Pro League is the only place where the British player group come together to compete across the full year.
