A NORTHWOOD Hills youngster is to represent Great Britain at the European Fencing Championships in Belgrade.
Casey Jones, who has just turned 14, will be part of the Under-18 squad.
It’s a huge achievement for someone so young. He has been fencing since the age of eight, when a chance encounter, led to dreams of standing on the Olympic podium one day.
He represented Team Wales three years in a row at Challenge Wratislavia in Poland, the largest European Children’s Championships for Under 15s.
Casey, a Year 10 pupil at John Lyon School in Harrow, is also the current Welsh National champion, the Bavarian Youth Champion, the Independent Schools Association Champion, the Youth Series Champion and the Current Britain Under 15 No 1.
He has his sights set on representing Wales at the Commonwealth Games next year.
