PHILANTHROPIC family foundation the Kusuma Trust UK has donated £251,460 to Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

It will equip the two hospitals’ catheter laboratories (cath labs) with the latest imaging equipment.

Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity has been raising funds to buy new scanners for the hospitals.

In cath labs, NHS staff perform minimally invasive heart procedures, often on patients who are too weak for major surgery. These procedures can save or enhance the life of a patient.

The Life In Focus appeal for Royal Brompton and the Lifeline Lab appeal for Harefield are now fully funded. Harefield’s refurbished Cath Lab 5 will soon be open.

Kusuma Trust UK gives grants to causes that are making a positive difference to society.
