A person has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a sexual assault in South Woodford.
The Metropolitan Police say at 5pm on Monday October 18, a woman, aged in her 20s, was approached by a male in Granville Road and sexually assaulted.
Despite the victim getting way from the male, he remained at the scene and exposed himself and began to commit an indecent act, police added.
The woman called police and the male walked away.
Officers attended and following a patrol of the area a person of interest was located but they fled the scene.
The following day, police say a 16-year-old boy was arrested at an address in Redbridge on suspicion of sexual assault and indecent exposure.
He was taken to an east London police station and was subsequently released on bail to return on a date in late November.
The Met says enquiries continue.
