A HILLINGDON Council social worker has won a prestigious Social Worker of the Year award.
Kudakwashe Kurashwa, in Children’s Services, won the Gold Award for Team Leader of the Year 2021.
The winners were announced at a virtual awards ceremony esterday (17).
Kudakwashe has worked in Hillingdon for five years and was nominated for his leadership skills and his patience and empathy.
Also nominated for an award was Natasha Karmali, a senior social worker in the Learning Disability and Autism team, who was shortlisted in the Adult Social Worker of the Year category.
Cllr Jane Palmer, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: “This award acknowledges the amazing work Kudakwashe does and his commitment to supporting and improving the lives of children and young people in care.”
