A MURDER investigation is underway following the death of a 16-year-old boy in Yiewsley.

Police were called at 7.34pm yesterday (30) to reports of an injured person at the Philpotts Farm open space, close to Heather Lane.

They found the boy suffering from a puncture woundand, despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family are being supported by trained officers. There have been no arrests.

Det Chief Insp Jim Shirley, leading the investigation, said: “Sadly, we have once again seen the tragic loss of a young life, taken away in such a violent act.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends as they struggle to come to terms with what has happened."

Chief Supt Sean Wilson, in charge of policing for Hillingdon, said: “I know the events of last night will be causing genuine concern among the local community and beyond.

"I would like to take this opportunity to assure you we will continue to work closely with our colleagues from Specialist Crime until we know what took place and arrests are made.

“Please speak with my officers if you have any information regarding this murder or wish to discuss any other issues affecting you.”
