PASTICHE Musical Theatre company, based in Hillingdon, returns to the Compass Theatre, Ickenham, in April with a celebration of their 25th birthday, called Musical Memory Lane.

It is a fond look back at the company’s history from its very first production to its most recent, which was days away from reaching the stage until the pandemic struck.

Featuring musicals such as Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, Carousel, Oklahoma, 9 to 5 and many more, Musical Memory Lane’s songs from the shows will be interspersed with stories from behind the curtain and some anecdotes.

Pastiche formed with its first production in January 1997, when Jean Hobson and Jean George decided to create a one-off production of Sandy Wilson’s The Boy Friend at The Compass in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

It encouraged the company to stage another production, Salad Days, in 1998 and, since then, it has staged a full musical and a concert each year with the proceeds donated to a cause selected by the cast.

Pastiche has raised nearly £60,000 for 30-plus different organisations, including Hillingdon MIND, Hillingdon Hospital’s Peter Pan Ward, Little Hearts Matter, the Michael Sobell Hospice and Meadow High School.

Proceeds from Musical Memory Lane will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK. Two families within the company are either living with, or supporting, someone currently undergoing treatment.

The show will be performed on Thursday, March 31, and Friday, April 1, both 7.30pm, and Saturday, April 2, 2.30 and 7.30pm.
