A NORTHWOOD care home was the scene of a tree-planting on the National Day of Reflection, a commemoration for those affected by COVID-19.
Staff and residents of Erskine Hall BUPA home in Watford Road were joined by guests from St John’s School for the planting of a willow tree in the home’s garden.
Russell Sharp, the home’s manager, said: “The willow tree offers a place for us all to reflect and think about our loved ones.
“In planting [it] we have created a welcome space for our community to come together and reflect.
“The pandemic affected all our lives in various ways, so our Day of Reflection ceremony was a celebration of the strength of our community during a difficult time.”
Senior healthcare assistant Samantha Wright was selected to officially plant the tree.
