ONE hundred young people from schools and colleges in Hillingdon received Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Awards at a live event at the Beck Theatre, Hayes.
Winners aged 11-25 were honoured for contributions to their school or college.
They received medallions and framed certificates, along with a £250 grant to spend on their school or youth group.
Hillingdon has received funding of £964k from the Jack Petchey Foundation since funding started.
Winners include Laila Beharry, 15, who attends Global Academy, Hayes.
She has developed her entrepreneurial skills by starting an online business, called LB’s Sweet Tooth, selling American candy. Some of the profits went to charity.
Sherol Andreez, 13, who attends Uxbridge High School, is a member of the school's anti-bullying ambassadors and its mental health champions.
She has delivered five assemblies to the whole school, speaking each morning to different year groups about the effects of bullying.
Callum Giles, 16, who attends Global Academy, has an aspiration to teach youngsters about autism (especially Asperger's), and how it is nothing to be ashamed about.
He started his own YouTube channel called The Teenage Aspie (an 'aspie' being a name for someone with Asperger's Syndrome).
