USERS of the Brunel University netbike scheme in Uxbridge have reached the 100,000 mark since it launched in March 2019.
The milestone was passed just after UK Bike Week (June 6-12).
Nextbike UK’s MD, Krysia Solheim, said: “It’s clear students and staff at Brunel have embraced a new-found love for cycling.
“People opting to cycle, instead of using the car or public transport, means they’re not only helping to reduce CO2 emissions and ease congestion, but they’re also boosting their physical and mental health, too.”
The scheme is run in conjunction with Santander and Brunel University, enabling quick connections with Uxbridge station and Hillingdon Hospital.
Since the launch, students, staff and tourists have collectively travelled more than 205,000 miles.
