A FIRM is bidding to raise thousands of pounds for those affected by the war in Ukraine with a charity football tournament in Northolt.
Kingdom Local Authority Support, which helps local authorities with environmental and anti-social crimes, is using Middlesex FA grounds at Rectory Park on July 15, 10am-4pm.
Money raised will provide medical supplies and essentials to hospitals and others in Ukraine.
So far, 80-100 people have signed up across the Kingdom Group and four London councils, as well as waste management firm Veolia.
Organiser Courtney Gray, a contract manager with Kingdom Group, said: “We felt we had to do something and I’ve had nothing but support from my colleagues and friends across the group.”
Plans for the day are for several five-a-side games to be played at one time. Each team will wear blue or yellow bibs, to match the Ukrainian flag.
Live music, cakes and refreshments, plus face-painting for children, will accompany the football.
