A NEW schedule of skills and training courses for adults, offered by Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education, is now available on the Hillingdon Council website.

The new term started this week, with courses being delivered in the community and at the five adult education centres, including new classrooms at the Civic Centre, Uxbridge.

Adults aged over 19, can gain a qualification in maths, English, childcare, supporting teaching and learning, health and social care and computer skills.

Or they can explore art, culture, music, ballroom dancing and life in general via the learning for yourself course.

Part-time courses are held during the day, evening and weekends. You can enrol online.

Learning with Hillingdon can often lead to greater things, as was the case for adult learner Joanne Matthews, who returned to the classroom in her 50s, gained qualifications in maths, computing and mentoring and then went on to win a national Return to Learning award.

Cllr Susan O'Brien, cabinet member for Families, Education and Wellbeing, said: “I think learners old and new will really enjoy the great courses we have on offer.”
