STUDENTS at Northwood-based UTC Heathrow have been burning off energy on a new multi-sports court built on a previously inaccessible piece of land.

The cost has been borne by one of the school’s employer partners, CyrusOne, a global data centre developer and operator.

The court will allow students to take part in basketball, football, volleyball and badminton, using new sports equipment and kit. Previously there wasn’t an adequate space for it.

An opening celebration held was attended by the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Becky Haggar, the MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, David Simmonds, and Andrew Riley, borough residents association chairman.

UTC Heathrow is a specialist science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) school for students aged 14-19.
