A WORKING partnership has helped Hillingdon Council turn a vacant house in Hayes into vital supported living for homeless people.

The previously empty property on the corner of Beechwood Avenue has been converted to provide six bedrooms, a shared kitchen and communal living space.

It will be leased to Trinity Homeless Projects, a charity which provides day services and supported housing in Hillingdon and neighbouring Slough.

The £300,000 transformation, which began in May, was completed in late September and included new plumbing, electrics and an energy-efficient air circulation system.

Most of the cost was covered by government grants, with the remainder coming from the council.

The house is close to Lake Farm Country Park and is also on the bus route to Hayes town centre.
