FREE radio control car racing days are planned for Hillingdon youngsters over the Easter holidays.

The programme, from April 3-6, is aimed at those aged 12-16 who qualify for free school meals.

Lewis Hamilton started his career in RC racing before making the jump to full-size motor sports.

Last year, on the 30th anniversary of his appearance as a seven-year-old on Blue Peter,

Hamilton spoke to Sky Sports about his lifelong passion for RC racing and its impact on his career.

He surprised a group of children from providers RC Vision by joining them for some racing and declared: “There are so many different things attached to it, like engineering and mechanics."

The RC activity days are designed to fuel the passion of the next generation of engineers, racers and innovators.

The Hillingdon sessions are being held at Pole Hill Open Space, 70 Gainsborough Rd, Hayes, from 10am-2pm each day.
