FOUR Wetherspoon pubs in Hillingdon have won acclaim for their toilets – in the Loo of the Year Awards.
The Botwell Inn in Coldharbour Lane, Hayes and The Tichenham Inn in Swakeleys Road, Ickenham, have been awarded a platinum rating by inspectors and JJ Moons in Victoria Road, South Ruislip, a gold rating.
The Good Yarn in Uxbridge High Street has a platinum rating.
Inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets across the UK. All are graded silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus or diamond, with unacceptable toilets not graded at all.
Criteria include décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
Botwell Inn manager Sean O'Farrell, said: "Staff ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised."
