AN award-winning education programme that gives students a head start into digital careers is rolling out to three Thames Valley schools.

It follows a successful launch at UTC Heathrow, based at Northwood.

The Digital Futures Programme equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in technical careers within that industry.

The programme was launched in 2021 by UTC Heathrow and its employer partners and has gone from strength to strength.

Employers deliver a mix of projects, challenge days, master classes and skills workshops as part of the programme.

More importantly, the first set of UTC Heathrow graduates is taking up apprenticeship roles as a direct result of the programme.

It is now being rolled out to three sister schools at Reading, Oxfordshire and Swindon.

UTCs are secondary schools and sixth forms that focus on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).
