Detectives arrested fifteen men in connection with the brutal murders of two Tamil men during an armed operation this morning.
Officers from the Specialist Crime Directorate, assisted by the Firearms Unit (SO19) searched two homes in Barkingside and Ilford about 4am.
The men, all believed to be in their late teens or early twenties and of Tamil origin, were arrested in connection with the murders of 23-year-old Partheepan Balasingham, and Kishokumar Balachandiran, 18.
They have been taken to three separate police stations in north and east London where they will be interviewed.
A number of weapons were found at the two addresses and will undergo a forensic examination.
